Things are still going well. My first classes are tomorrow. I have three tomorrow, so it's going to be a long day. Hopefully the classes won't be so tiring if only because it's the first class. We'll see. I'm taking two literature courses (don't really know how that happened), a composition course, and a culture course. I'm most nervous about the literature courses because I'm not that great at reading in German, so I hope there's not a ton of books or things that we have to read because that sounds time consuming.

But maybe time consuming would be good. I've been kind of bored the last couple days. I still feel awkward being in someone else's house and I don't know the city well enough to go for a bike ride or something (I'd get lost). There's a TV in my room, but everything's in German so even if it's a show or movie I've seen before and it's dubbed, I only catch part of what they are saying. I don't want to take so many naps because I want to be able to get to sleep at night.

I was supposed to go to the train station to look at shops but the person I was going to go with overslept. I wasn't too upset, as I kind of expected it to happen a little, but then I just didn't really have anything to do. Maybe she hasn't adjusted yet.

Homestay

My stay so far has been wonderful. My host family is awesome: they are nice, generous, and when they correct my German, they are super nice about it. Their house is gorgeous! For example, here is my room:

The city is beautiful as well. Earlier we went to a flea market and just looked around. It was right outside this huge IKEA. I've never encountered an IKEA at home (there aren't any in KY) but this one was huge--it was as big as a warehouse, and it looked like it had multiple floors as well.
